I am a maker and designer of printed textiles. I design for clothing, accessories, homewares and interiors using hand screen and digital print. I make clothing, accessories and soft furnishings, including one-off commissions. I am also developing a craft-based business aimed at sharing the joy of making with others.
I have recently completed an MA in Creative Practice at Leeds College of Art. My MA project used the urban edgelands environment on the periphery of the city as a source of inspiration; exploring themes of liminality, order and chaos and 'the fabric of the city' to produce hand printed and digital print samples and products.
My research interests include craft theory, material culture and the interaction between the handmade and the digital in the process of design. My dissertation 'The Matter at Hand', explored the relevance of craft and the meaning of making in a digital age.
I am a founder member of Leeds Print Workshop - a co-operative set up to provide affordable printmaking facilities and develop a vibrant community of printmakers in Leeds.
